As spring is upon us, I have found that this is a good time to reevaluate the direction of my business. Last year was a challenging year but ended up being profitable for my little business. I have been a photographer for 21 years and I have loved capturing so many memories for families and friends. I will still offer photo sessions, but it appears that hand painting and reupholstering furniture will my main focus. After painting furniture these last […]
Not sure where the time has gone but, it sure was a busy month. I refinished a desk for a friend/customer and a farmhouse window box for a repeat customer. I am currently reupholstering a settee and will start working on a dresser for a customer. Here is a before and after of the desk. I sure like the way it turned out. I love my job and enjoyed breathing new life into classic pieces of furniture. Do you have […]
Even though we are almost done with January, I thought I would stop in and say “HI”. This year has started off with several painting projects for customers. I am super thankful for these opportunities, as this is usually the slow time of the year. Looking back on “2020” it definitely was a challenging year for everyone. As difficult as it was, I had a good year and made lots of new connections and business opportunities. I am looking forward […]
Happy New Year!! I know it’s a been a while since I have done a post. Last year was a year of big changes for my family, we moved from the big city of Ann Arbor to the small town of Grass Lake. It has been wonderful and the kids are really enjoying it here. Just to let you know I am still offering photo sessions and custom painted furniture to all of Washentaw county. Mini sessions and special promotions […]
It’s turning an ordinary dresser, table, end table, or other piece of furniture into something new! Here are a few reasons why this trend has become so popular. Quality – they just don’t make furniture like they used too. It seems the furniture makers of the past took pride in the quality of their workmanship and the materials that were used. Unique – Having something different and unique that reflects personal style is important. Adding that pop of color can […]
Now that spring has arrived! We can start thinking about having spring photos taken. I am offering $200 Spring Mini Sessions on two dates this year. May 11th & May 18th at two locations Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor and Wasem’s fruit farm in Milan. Includes 10 images and 30 minute time slot. The both locations offered a unique spring experience, the arboretum has beautiful spring flowers and the fruit farm has stunning apple blossoms. Other locations are available as […]
Happy Wednesday! I did a bit of decorating recently, I picked up these items for practically free. I love all things wood and with that rustic feel. For sometime my entry way has been lacking some style. The chalkboard sign was not the best color. So, I gave it a fresh coat of stain. It is amazing what a few new changes can do to make a room look so much better.
I know it has been a while since I have blogged, but big changes have been going on here at Reflective Works. Don’t worry, I still offer photo sessions. In fact, now is the perfect time to schedule a in-home lifestyle session. Spring sessions will be announced next month. I have been super busy with painting. I just finished two custom order jobs, a table and chair set and three large cabinets. I have a new logo and business cards. Keep […]
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to take photos of this sweet family at Maybury park in Northville. It was a nice partly cloudy Sunday afternoon. We had a great time exploring the park looking for the pond with the neat dock. Hope you enjoy a few previews from this session.
Are you interested in scheduling a fall session? Don’t wait, dates are filling up quickly. Fall is the perfect time for a updated family photo or just photos of the kids. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss details.
